Running board Recommendations?

I just got a 91 2nd Gen. The PO has lifted it about 4" and my wife would like an easier way to get into the truck. I'm not sure I want to lower it, so I figure running boards would be a better option.

It looks like most running boards don't actually sit that much lower than the rocker panels. Are there others that do?

Im guessing you dont wheel very often, why your thinking of adding running boards over sliders.... JC whitney has a few options

Does your truck have a suspension lift or a body lift?

Hi Mike. I got them from 4XInnovations (DOM steel w/kicker). Along with the rear bumper. I gave them a good work out this past weekend. Now I have to touch them up with more bedliner.

running boards = Rust
rock sliders = safety and rust free + looks cool.

Sliders wont help your wife get in the truck any easier...depending on how much you have them sticking out can actually make the jump a little harder. Im just trying to help with the original question.

With that being said.. I also have a set of the 4xi sliders and love them. Just use normal spray paint though, makes touch ups easier.

How hard is the install on the rock sliders?

Not hard, but need to be welded on.
