Running board year differences?

Are there differences by years for the running boards? I have an 01 SR5 and a guy with a 2002 is asking me if it fits. I'm pretty sure it does, but want to make sure.

No so much by year but by trim type. For example, a non-flare SR5 like mine has smooth, black end caps but the Limited models with painted flared instead have angled, painted end caps.
