running boards/step suggestions

I removed the OEM running boards from my 2015 Trail and I am looking for a replacement that is is a little more "stealthy". The OEM had a chrome strip along the length and that just wasn't going to cut it. I think I want a minimalist look with just a step at the front and rear door. Any suggestions?

If you don’t off-road you want to look at Nfabs, if you do off-road you might consider shrockworks or C4 fab though they are both full length.

I am in the process of adding sliders or a nerf bar as well..Sounds like NFab would be good for you..

I was considering just a step as well,but I am leaning towards the Shrockworks version with the steps built in.

My running boards on my Limited had a chrome strip and was very wide. I removed the chrome strip, cut off 1 inch of the overhang and painted it black. I like it now.

Domello Rock Sliders

I have the Domello straight, ordinary rock sliders. The straight round rail makes a pretty good step. Most of the sturdy rock sliders being offered will provide a step and protect the rocker panels from off road damage.
Nerf Bars with steps are fine for urban driving but those side steps protruding out will become a hazard if you're sliding over boulders, logs or any high spot.

I installed Carr II hoop steps on my 2014 even though manufacturers say it’s not compatible. I’ve had them on for a few weeks and are very solid. I don’t foresee any issues with them in the future.

What about Predator minus the steps

I am thinking about buying the Pro Predator steps and cutting off the steps and then refinishing the cutoff points and repainting. Wish someone had a picture.... may be even a doctored one just to see what it would look like. This will help hide some of the visible undercarriage.

These are the ones I am getting, or the ones that fold into another step. But I need to research the length between a newer T4Rs doors and wheels that way I can figure out how to fab them up to a "2006" sport edition T4R.

I got the Tyger steps off Amazon. Sturdy, reasonably priced and I think they look great. I may eventually get a set of sliders, but for now I’m pretty happy with them.

I love these Tyger steps. Just took them off my 17 Pro and putting them on my 2020 Pro when I pick it up today. Love the finish on them. Mine are still like brand new after 2 years being in my 17. Considering the crappy weather we get in Pa.

That chrome does look terrible. I bought my LE without a step bar and added the one from the Nightshade.
