?'s about rebuilding r150f . use of different gear ratios

Ive got a few questions that may be able to be answered here. My runner has the r150f tranny and im wondering when it come time to rebuild it are here any upgrades or different gearsets that are available for it?

As far as i know, the r150f, r151f and ax15 are all similar transmissions. Could say for instance you get the 1st and 2nd gear ratios and put them in the r150 tranny (4.31 and 2.33) without a hiccup? A buddy of mine has an ax15 equipped cherokee and it sure is nice being able to take off in second gear sometimes ( same second gear ratio as r151f) , or from a slow roll being able to use second gear instead of waiting until 1500 rpm for the motor to pick up again. My ideal ratios would be the fist and second out of the r151f and the 5th gear out of the ax15 ( .79 vs our .83). For a little better highway mileage .

With my current 4.30s it would be like having 4.88 in first and second, 4.30s in 3rd and 4th ( same as now). And 4.10s in 5th with 33s. Seems like the best of all worlds to me, just wondering if it cab be done or if im dreaming. I would have emailed marlin crawler, but they dont seem to have one Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the subject. Tj.

Not possible, maybe in fwd transaxles, but in these rwd bias transmissions there is a counter shaft with every gear welded/cast directly to it. Every gear is turning all the time in constant mesh, you only select the gear you are using by moving a shift collar between dogteeth (which are attached to your gears) You would have to change the whole gearset to do what you want, so you might as well fit another transmission.

You cannot simply pick and choose which individual ratios you use out of different transmissions.

Now you may be able to swap an entire gearset out of one transmission into your case. maybe from another r series.

Honestly it would be easier to hear your final drives lower, or use smaller tires...

Don't bother trying to get in touch with marlin, don't get me wrong I have their transmission and it's fabulous, but their customer service is non existent.
