Sacramento Area Junkyard for 3rd Gen Parts?

So I've been a 3rd gen pickup guy for the last 4 years (still have it currently) but now phasing it out due to it's age for the 98 4Runner I just bought.

I know all the good spots in the area for a 91 Pickup, but I'm not exactly sure which would carry 98 parts. I've been a fan of Pick and Pull around here but they rarely ever have 96 or newer Toyota trucks.

If you are from the Sacramento area and know of some good places to look, let's hear your recommendations! I've got some parts I'm looking to swap out/mod and a junk yard is the best place to start in my opinion.

P.S. if you are ever looking for 95 and older parts, the Pick and Pull in Rancho Cordova by far has the best selection. One time they had 6 fresh 4Runners in and I found all the parts I ever needed or wanted.

Surely I can't be the only one on these forums in the Sacramento area. Any ideas? Or maybe no one want to give up their secret shop locations...

Most junk yards/salvage yards are going away from the "pick-n-pull" model and becoming vehicle strippers/used parts suppliers. Basically they get vehicles, strip them, and shelve parts for customers.

LKQ is one of the most famous and used of these salvage yards (they're national and tend to be used by Dealers, Body Shops, ect.) but there's also All Toyota Lexus Parts located near Sacramento that may be ablee to help you out.

That would make sense why I never find any. Self-service yards are by far the cheapest out there but they tend to only carry 70's, 80's, and early/mid 90's model years.

I've seen TLS Recycling before though, it's in the same area in Rancho. I'll check them out in the near future. Thanks for the suggestion!

You can use car-part.com to search for used parts and it will tell you which yard has the part in stock and will usually tell you the price. I'm sure most salvage yard in Rancho Cordova use this website to list their parts. I have used it before and it is pretty accurate.
