Safari Snorkel confirms snorkel for 4th-gen coming

Are you talking about the snorkel itself separating?Hey Nyc-Runner and cpark_12
The pic on ebay looks like you might be able to remove the fender side part with the 6 screw in the pic.
Seems like that would be nice to do to get a good flat fit with the fender tube out of the way. Before cutting that is.
Do you recall whether it is removable?

The tube on the snorkel that goes thru the fender is attached to the snorkel and is not removable. The best thing you can do is just try to make sure your template is positioned properly, which takes a little adjusting of course. I would definitely fit the template over the actual snorkel first just make sure all the holes on that are lined up properly then tape it up to the fender and try use fit the snorkel up best you can to make sure it's going to sit right ( I know that tube makes it difficult) But don't worry you have a little from for era if it's not lined up 100% perfect..

I spoke to an ARB rep last week and he said they didn't know when they'll be available to sell them. The way he spoke made it seem as if they haven't started making them yet. He didn't even have a p/n. FML

I started thinking the same thing. If the fit on the LC80 one is a tight enough fit, it just makes more sense financially.
Never understood why they want $500 for a piece of plastic. I know there is engineering involved but that's way to much in my opinion. I'll go with a nice $70 part any day!

I got 1 too. Mine is from Amazon but appears to be same product.
Have not had the sac to install yet.
The front/back alignment seems to be straight forward. I assume that we want it to enter the fender directly in line with the stock air intake.
Its the up/down measure that's scary. Too high and it will be tough to get the hose to connect.
Too low and you have to cut a lot of fender flare.
Up and down also changes where the a-pillar lines up.
got some tips from [MENTION=112248]cpark_12[/MENTION] and [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] on their installs. They both went on the higher side.
Here is where I am thinking it should go.

Think that's about where I was going to go originally, but decided I didn't want to trim the fender. Should be fairly close to dead on with the inside hole. I also haven't actually mounted it to the pillar yet. Some double sided sticky and it doesn't move too much.

Thanks, did you actually cut any of that flare so it sits flush?
I have an 08 and i think the flare is higher/rounder.
