Safari Snorkel confirms snorkel for 4th-gen coming

Do you honestly think they ignored what YOU think is a profitable product and instead worked on something less profitable in Australia? The US market is pennies to them right now, and when you factor in the crappy exchange rates, it becomes even less profitable. And one thing they won't do is make some el cheapo junk that needs a coat hanger jammed inside to make it work properly, or something that needs heated up, cut, bent, twisted and tweaked to make it fit right.
I wish they had something for us too, but if they choose to make stuff for the new Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, VW Amarok or Toyota Hilux instead of our 4Runners, then that's just the way it is. The business case for us is there, but it's not as strong as others.

I'm gonna do what the aussies do and have a custom bent stainless tube frenched into the fender. To hell with plastic bs snorkels. Simalar to this:

Only thing I had to hack up was my fender. My lc80 snorkel looks fine without heating it. It's all bullshit excuses and all you're doing is making yourself look like a giant safari fanboy. If they can come up with the 2016 Tacoma snorkel that quickly, they can come up with the a 4th gen just as quickly.

Relax dude, I'm just messing with you. I'm glad your snorkel is working out for you and you're happy with it, it looks decent enough to me. And at least you didn't sit around fretting about the lack of safari product and did something about it. Maybe t-man will do the same too, he's been saying he will for months...

All in the grand plan, but 4 kids and the work season just kicking off makes it take awhile. Northern Michigan pretty much shuts down December to April. I've been lucky enough to get a couple good houses to work on the last 2 months to keep me going. Big things are coming though....

Chatted with my buddy at Safari in Australia.... no real progress at all on the 4Runner snorkels over the last six months, they are way too busy with other higher volume stuff.

Lc80 snorkel from eBay. $60. Fits great, nobody has had issues.

For a few people (myself included) it was just to sloppy of a fit without really melting the plastic to get enough bend. I posted photos somewhere of the issues and it has been discussed at length.

Has anyone installed a 2nd gen Tacoma snorkel? Seems like that would be the closest fit.

I read a small amount about something like that, but didn't get all that info. Just NYC-runner and cparks info on there's. Is there a thread about your issues?
Isn't the Tacoma air box on the drivers side??

I've been running the lc80 without any issues for about 6 or 7 months now. It fits fine without melting or shaping but you will have gaps. Doesn't bother me but I'm not ocd about my rig and I bought it to wheel it. The gaps right now are the least of my "damage"

Wow that looks good. I have a few questions though. Do the gaps cause any problems with sealing or anything, or is it just a cosmetic gap? Could you put a small piece of rubber around the gap to make it fit better? And all in all, how hard is the install? And finally, do you have to turn the top of the snorkel when it rains/snows?

Cosmetic only.

Could put rubber around it to seal it. It's on my list eventually.

Never turned it around in pouring ass rain. My understanding is that it filters it out near the top due to design. Haven't had it in snow.
