Safari Snorkel confirms snorkel for 4th-gen coming

Update!!

Gas maileage has stayed the same getting around 315 miles per tank after driving 2,500 miles which is about the same as before. Throttle response is great! It feels the same as presnorkel

Cool to see these FINALLY being made, but I already have an LC80 one on so I won't be getting one of these. It sure is bulky looking that's for sure. I would be curious to see pics of the hose that connects the airbox to the snorkel inside the fender liner. I had to custom make mine and it was a bizzatch. Also, would be interesting if there is any scientific data for flowrate with or without the ARB snorkel. Then of course between the ARB and LC80.

A dyno comparison between all 3 would be pretty cool; factory V8 vs ARB vs LC80. It will probably never happen though. There would have to be two separate trucks one for the ARB one for the LC80 unless it's possible to rig them both up without a fender installed...

When i get a chance one of these weekends I'll get under the fender liner and try to get some good pics!! I would love to see flow chart comparisons also. i know there's lots of tuners with flow bench testers around here maybe something could be worked out eventually.

Not sure a dyno comparison would be all that beneficial. The ARB is quite bulkier so it may have more flow, however when you're driving there is a bit of a ram effect on the air going in. It would be VERY hard to do as you would essentially need to have one car and two different fenders with two different snorkels. I'll live with my LC80 one. It does the job and doesn't look too bad. Besides, my 4R isn't a race truck. HAHA

Nope. My buddy over there sent me pic of the post-molding cooling jig prototype when it was being designed (this helps it keep it's shape while the hot material is cooling down when it comes out of the mold). It has a part number on it.

Contacted ARB Today

Good Afternoon Y'all,

I just emailed ARB and asked when the snorkels would be available and if they would also work for the 03-05 4Runnners. They said that they should be on sale on September 1 and that they will fit all 4th gens. Here is a screenshot for reference

Looks like the snorkels are done and they're being shipped from Australia, Safari has 4runner listed under their products now, should be on track still, I'm waiting for an announcement any day.

That's.... "4 months or so"...it's the "so" that could end up meaning even several more months on top of the 4, so MAYBE...hopefully sometime in 2020!!
