The police mentioned a ton of details about the weapons used and bombs found. The reporters asked a ton of questions about the community and if he had been at the Christmas party or if he got along well with his co-workers...

Second, it needs to be part of a conspiracy - Lone Gunman type shit doesn't count. Third, it needs to be a non-State actor - if it's planned or carried out by an official national organization, it's not terrorism, it's war. Fourth, it needs to be motivated by the intent to cause terror - i.e., incentivize people to stop or start doing something. It does not get to be Terrorism just because some people got dead and others got scared, otherwise any violent crime could be classified as terrorism, and that'd get damned silly damned quick.

A lot of people that are considered "xenophobes" are prejudice (which is horrible and im not defending them in anyway), but some of the people are reacting out of instinct. It is human instinct to survive, and when a particular group of people threaten that we get defensive and are wary to this group. When another group shares the same ideologies, religion, clothing, and behavior with this group people are, by instinct, going to respond out of fear not only for themselves but for others as well. For example wolves kill sheep. If a sheep sees something that appears to be a wolf it is going to react as if it were a wolf. Does it mean that we should go kill everyone that looks like the Muslim extremists do? NO! But it does mean that we have the right to be cautious around said people. My motto is "Me and mine before you and yours".
