Whats up guys. havnt been on here in a long time. I havnt been driving the runner for about a month because on my way home to sacramento from santa cruz it started running like crap and the check engine light was flashing. turns out its a blown head gasket. This weekend I have started to work on it. since im in school 5 days a week all I have is weekends. But anyways im gonna git her done. gonna replace everything else related while im at it.
Right now im just about to take the timing belt off. not sure how to get that off but im going to go do a quick search.

Whats up guys. Been a while. I got the runner back a long time ago. It has two brand new heads, timing belt, water pump, all gaskets, thermostat, belts, hoses and fluids. I got it back with 214k on it. it now has 218k and its running amazing! so 3k later I have a rebuilt top end.
On another note I got some new wheels and tires. 16x10 steelies with 285 75 16 hankook dynapro m/t's. they wheel great and are pretty good on the road too.
Anyways here she is. Great to have her back!

I saw the ad you had on craigslist, I have been shopping for a car/4runner recently and came across this guy wanting to trade his WRX for a 4runner.

Love your build man! I'm strongly thinking about an LED bar as well but I am a little turned off by the self tapper mounting method.. Is that what you did for your mounts? I'm trying to brainstorm a better way for going about it but it looks like welding or mounting it to a rack are the only other options. Keep up the great work!

Wheelin weekend.
Did a lot of wheeling this weekend. Saturday I went to prairie city. Got a little carried away in the mud pit but damn it was fun. Don't have any pics from that trip but I do have an after shot...
Sunday I took a trip to Greeley hill with my girlfriend. It is about an hour and a half away from Modesto up in the hills. So beautiful and peaceful. Not a soul for miles and tons of trails to explore. Any ways here are the pics I got from the day. Enjoy.
First off at the Safeway before we left town, saw this spot and had to park there

Something that has come up that needs to be fixed. My climate control isn't working. When I turn the fan speed knob, it shows it going to higher and higher speeds but the blower motor never turns on. I press the AC button and the compressor engages and when I hit the mode button I can hear the mode doors actuating. Gonna look into it further tomorrow. Anyone have a place to start? Since I know these late model climate control systems are prone to failure.

Make sure the blower isnt shot. Thats all I got really, maybe check the board for a broken joint or something. I've got old school climate control so I don't worry about this newfangled digital stuff
Its been slow for sure. I've got a couple things coming up that will give a bit of an update for me atleast haha. Truck is looking good man!

Yeah I was gonna take the lower plenum apart and look at it.
Also have to do the o2 sensor. The lower ball joints. More maintainance stuff for me right now not so much mods lol.

i got the "prototype" ones he made before he went in business. Just hit him up and say you need some for a 3rd gen.
I got the bar on amazon. wiring harness sales separate. get a quality one tho. the one I got has a shitty switch.

I saw a few led bars on craiglist.. and some of the 40's they had were around $200.. i was going to retrofit my fogs with xenon but is going to cause more... I might as well just do an led bar instead..
