Do ett!!
Or this one which is closer. 97 4runner elocker a04a axle code
They pop up sometimes at the pick-n-pull too and you can get the whole axle instead of just the 3rd. Might be worth it to wait since you won't have to as much fab work.
how much work is it to make it work in mine?
Look at the actual retrofit threads (cant link,on phone) theres cutting and welding involved. Id definitely try to find a whole axle.
Check miles, check for shavings or chunks, regularity of fluid changes, bearings, gear whine, etc..
Thats the spirit. Wait till mine gets pulled. Ill sell the complete axle to ya for cheap. everything included.
And to sweeten the deal. Brakes are brand new along with new axle seals.
Ill throw in the brake lines, rear links, everything.:
Looking good Drew. Ya I know. I have a bunch of things I will be able to sell to help with the swap so that is a good thing. Swap should take 4 months so getting all the parts sold should be pretty easy in that time span.
Oh and I will throw in the front matching diff too:
Totally ready. Getting the rear bump stop spacers in tonight and I'm ready to rock. At some point I will have to pull the front drivers side hub off so I can pull the axle and change the boot out... But for this trip I should be good.
Need to take a look when its fully articulated stuffed to see whether the spacers are needed or not.
Ya serious. Especially with the rain coming. Don't need the joint to start getting rusty.
All in all it should be a fun day though.
Can't wait to try out the new longer rear shocks. Hoping they will allow me to get through a couple of those sections that I struggled with before. :biggrin2:
Dorothy is actually able to go with me this time too. Think its the first time besides pismo that she is wheelin with me in the runner.
