Must have been majestic until Mohegan went in! Seems as though we are getting a few more CT owners on the forum. Any interest in getting a small group for a romp...maybe out your way? We don't have too many spaces to run but from what I have seen, everyone around here is running pretty close to factory...

Mind ?Absolutely Not! I could care less who has the same taste as me and I'll help anyone out in any way I can. That's a big part of what forums are for and I get most of my ideas for mods from other peoples rides!
Plus ,that's where the 510's are supposed to go anyways as they are a perfect fit.:boink:

Did you take off the whole front bumper cover as an assembly to do the Satoshi and fog mod? I still think this would be the easier way for people doing it themselves although it seems daunting.

BTW ,I copied your HIR 9011 high beam mod. I just got them in the mail yesterday and just put the left one in for now and wil shoot some pics comparing left HIR 9011 to the stock 9005 in the right .I'll just unplug my low beams to get a good comparison then I'll do a little write-up for the mod sticky as this is a fairly cheap and easy mod with probable major improvements in high beam output .

Here is where I bought mine with some facts about HIR bulbs also this guy rocks on customer service. Had them in 3 days,double boxed Priority mail. HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs

Great! I too used the Piaa crystal yellow ion fogs. Looking back it would have been a ton easier to do it all at once, but I did them at separate times. I did have the whole front bumper off to do the Piaa's and only took the grill off to do the Satoshi mod (although those clips by the headlights were a PITA.

Glad you got the HIR 9011's! They were my first mod and I truly love them. I realize you have HID's in the low's and fog's, but the H9's look fantastic in place of the stock H11 bulbs. It was a quick easy modification to the H9's and they fit like a glove into the H11 wiring harness!

Just as a side note though, I am fairly disappointed with the light output of the Piaa's. They took quite a while to install and I literally cannot see them (from inside the cabin) when they are on :redbrick:. I'm looking to possible take the bumper back off and modify the stock Piaa housing for a 3000k HID kit. :thumb3:

So I did this mod today and I'm happy with the result. I at first bought the grill that everyone else was using, but after the cuts it left the metal vulnerable to rust and it also seemed too easy to flex.


Today I removed the old mod to the new mod with grillcraft and I've got to say it is a nice piece. The install is easy and secure.

Looks good! Spray paint the portion of the radiator and condenser black. It will really bring things out.

I'm thinking, Toyota should've made 5th Gen's look like this to start with, it looks more fitting appearance wise than having the middle piece & emblem..Satoshi mod looks best on 5th Gen to me...

5th gen owners can't go wrong with this mod.

That is why I sent an e-mail to TRD saying that they should offer this as a 5th gen accessory. I'd do the Satoshi if it were easy to return to stock. I also prefer a more OEM look (not that the Satoshi's don't look nice; they look great!) I'd just prefer that the T O Y O T A badge be set in the grille like it is on the FJ where the grille is molded around the Toyota badge.

It is easy to return to stock. Just have to buy the center grill again. O kept the center grill emblems just in case

yea, after i finished making my cuts on the metal grill i spray painted the cut edges before finally attaching it. GC looks good though, nice work.

I prefer the emblem and wings. For me, I think it's because the TOYOTA logo is recessed too deep within the grille, just not sure about that. Everyone's done a really nice job on them though. I think it looks best on the FJs. Just another guy's opinion.

actually, judging by reklov's pics, it looks like the GrillCraft brings the entire grill panel forward of where the stock one sits (it's less recessed than stock).

Just got this badge in the mail. It's quite a bit smaller than the one everyone else is using. And it's the old school land cruiser yellow color trimmed in chrome.

At first I wasnt so sure about it, but I think if I paint the yellow bits white or black it might look good. Thoughts??
