Sorry, but here is kind of an off-topic question for you guys with the lights behind the grille mesh:

How much light output do you think is blocked by the mesh? Is the light output significantly reduced, or is it not even an issue?

I guess it would kind of depend on the opening ratio of the holes in the mesh.

Depends on the openings. I held a few types in front of some 450s and some were noticeably worse, others weren't.

Here's mine:

It is expanded mesh from Home Depot, painted flat black.

I think the simpler look of the satoshi mod looks really good on 3rd gens. If I were to do it all again, I would probably forego the big FJ40 emblem and just go with just the small TRD in the corner like I have, or just the small Toyota emblem like 04rnr has. Those both look great.

Also, the newer fj40 emblem has also grown on me alot. This one...

But again, if I were to go back, I probably wouldn't buy either large emblem, just go with the plain look.

Thanks for all the ideas, this is going great. New bumper, grill, and headlight are in cousins body shop. Hope he starts asap, I think there's a car in ahead of Me, but He's also doing it all real cheap so I'm not complaining. Will help him with the grill. Hope it done and thread going by next weekend.

I'm gonna see what I can't do about putting some lights behind the grill though. Great idea there.
