Long term they are junk, I challenge you to ask any mechanic if they are reliable. Most will laugh at you. Sure they are great at what they do (off road and lately it's just about a stupid image), but the problem is they don't last. Its seems as though they self-destruct. Always been that way. Why do people continue to buy them? I suppose people don't care as most folks do away with them with when the warranty expires. Ignorant? I've had 4 goddamn Grand Cherokees and THEY WERE ALL GARBAGE. (long story on why we had 4 of them).

Saying "all Jeeps are garbage" based on the anecdotal data points of 4 Jeeps, and specifically, Grand Cherokees which are the most trouble-prone of Jeeps shows an emotional judgement and not one based on facts. Opinions are not facts. If the first Grand Cherokee was junk, why would you buy the next three? There had to be something you liked. Do Jeeps have their share of problems? Yes. Do Toyotas have less problems? Yes. But all makes have problems.

Since the late 80s, I have had 7 Jeeps including 3 XJs, 2 TJs, a JKUR, and an old '91 Grand Wagoneer that I wish I had kept. All of them were very reliable, capable and enjoyable to own. But I never owned a Grand Cherokee. So based on the same logic: 7 Jeeps > 4 Jeeps = all Jeeps are great!

It is a sharp looking GC though.
