carista has been my goto , few months ago the audi had misfires. I used the live engine diagnostics to show which cylinder was misfiring. Swapped the coil pack and spark plug and no issues since then.

Also with the carista there are a few custom mods to make on the 4runner. There is a list on the site but I did the following
removed the. "eco light" on dash
long press on key FOB to roll windows down

might be a few others but its been awhile

I have been having good luck with a bidirectional bluetooth Autel
Can program TPMS too but haven't tried that yet.
