Scangauge II accuracy

Anyone know the accuracy of the scangauge II transmission fluid temps? Mine seems high despite having my TRD cooler installed. I know I installed it correctly, bypassed the radiator, never overheated. Running about 220 going up canyons and around town. If just cruising at 60, it stays about 180.

I've had some similar temperatures...

Normal highway/freeway driving ranging between 160-180.....

Going up steep hills or a long steady inclination up to 220.. Highest I saw was 222..

I would like someone to pipe in about normal trans temps and/or too high temps and when to be careful

Apparently trans failure doesn't start to get troublesome unless you are at 200-300F for many many miles.... Like steady temps of 250 or more for long periods of time...

The scan gauge doesn't measure the temperature. It just reports what the ECU tells it. If there is an inaccuracy, it is probably not the Scan Gauge II.

OK. Makes sense. What is the accuracy of the reported value?

Yeah the ScanGauge just reads the data from the ECM, info is pretry accurate and is close to real time data. I love my SG2 just wish I had a 99+ so I coukd get trans temp too.
