That's a great price for an SGII. I paid over $150 for mine.
The UG is good and is easier to calibrate (easier than the SG) but it doesn't show trans temp. That's the reason I run a SGII on my 4runner. I have a UG on my DD Mazda B2300, but that has a manual transmission so trans temp isn't an issue.
I would have purchased the ultra gauge...but the lack of trans temp pushed me to the SGII. I hope I didn't come across as being biased toward the SGII over any competitive equipment, I was simply trying to pass along a deal for anyone seeking this particular piece of equipment.
You didn't rain on my parade, I did thorough research and chose the option that best fit my needs/wants/desires as a consumer. I had initially looked for a tablet and OBD2 dongle, but knew the tablet would; end up in my daughters possession, require creative mounting, require supplemental power supply/charging, attract thieves, etc. Might I kindly ask that you provide links to the equipment that you purchased? I'm sure that information will be beneficial to the people that read this thread, not only before this sale ends, but for those who utilize the search feature to dig up old threads rather than starting new redundant threads.

I've wanted a SGII for a while now, but atfer coming across this cheap tablet, as well as the OBD Reader, and realizing that I can see guages instead of just numbers, I decided to jump on it.
The tablet is a 16GB, with a Memory card slot for up to 64GB. That means that I can just load up the card with music, put the tablet in the car/truck, and have live data and plug it in to listen to whatever music I wanted to.
I plan on doing a custom center console, so this shoudn't be too hard to figure out how to mount infront of the shifter or somewhere in that area.
Also thinking about doing a custom head liner storage type thing, to mount a CB, so might just mount it up in that area. Who knows....

Rock on! Hopefully that information will keep us from having to read too many "what tablet and OBD2 should I buy" threads. Please update this, if you can remember, after you get everything up and running. I'm curious to know how well that tablet performs for you, one of the detractors for me, while reading reviews of inexpensive tablets, was poor performance. Good luck with it, your info should help quite a few people.

The Runner is down right now, but the good thing with the TP app is that you can set multiple profiles.
I'll be setting it up in my Passat for right now, but I might just have to crank the runner and set it for that as well.

I've been using the Torque 2 app on my android phone for about 3 yrs (with the blue-tooth OBDII connector)....For a total of $10 ($5 for the app and $5 for the blue-tooth adapter)...it can do everything (if not more) that the ScanGauge can do. Plus it's full color, customizable and and uses Touch screen (along with Voice prompts from the App).
I realize some people are resistant to technology...but $10 vs $100+ should be enough of an incentive for almost anyone.

If I carried an android phone, torque pro and a Bluetooth dongle would've been a no brainer...so much so that I tried to fire up my old droid but it was DOA. Wifi dongles with iPhone weren't exactly highly regarded, and I'm not going to jailbreak my company provided Iphone just to run an app in my 15 year old 4x4 toy. I did enough research to realize that the SGII was what fit MY needs as a consumer. Like I stated previously, I was just passing along this information for those who were seeking this particular piece of equipment.
Next time I'll just keep the info to myself, it seems as if opinions flow like floodwaters around here, even though my intent was clearly stated multiple times.

[MENTION=24218]Doc[/MENTION], that is a great option to save on price and that tablet does many other things. I wanted the SGII for a while now, but couldn't justify the $200 price that I saw. I run a Nexus 7in tablet for GAIA GPS maps, and use my smartphone with the Rollmeover app for an inclinometer, so my dash is getting busy - the SGII is nice and small. Now, if money were no issue, there are some tablets out there (Samsung I think?) that can display 4 apps at once, that would be a great solution and it could clear up a bunch of space in the cab, but it is out of my price range fo sho.
I've heard good things about refurbished tablets, that is another option to consider as well.
