School Me!!!!

Ok so since last post, I've replaced the coolant temperature sensor, and ditched the Autolite spark plugs with the NGK's, took on a test drive and no issues what so ever, drives and idles, acceleration, and response is incredible, have never seen this thing run so well. Will update is it starts to act up again. Now that is is running good time to move on to the appearance and get this turd polished lol thanks for all the advice, help, and direction from all those that helped me break into the world on T4R troubleshooting. Thanks guys much appreciated!!

so what ended up being the culprits if you pin pointed them? i’m having the same misfire just replaced all plugs and wires and two of the three coil packs and when i test swapped them it gave me the p0302 just redid all my fuel injectors and it’s still misfiring so i don’t know what else to do. would it be the only coil pack i didn’t replace?

Have you checked the compression in that cylinder?

no i haven’t done an actual test on it but all signs point to the compression being ok. no exhaust smoke or anything but i would like to do an actual test, just don’t have that tool

You can rent the necessary tool from most parts stores. You can lose compression in a multitude of ways that won’t give you any visual clues.

the thing is the misfire moves cylinders if i swap the coil packs but it doesn’t make sense because i replaced all the spark plugs, boots, wires and two/three of the coil packs, could that still mean low compression on a cylinder?

If the only thing you are moving is the coil pack then it’s the coil pack.
