Hey all,
Just finished installing a Pioneer AVH-4600BT into my 04 Sport w/JBL Synthesis. It works great, problem is that I can't seem to get my head around the Scosche TA2079B double din dash kit. I've tried pretty well everything I can think of to get this to fit, but it just appears to be too wide for my application. Here are some pics:
Here is how it sits now. You can see the narrow gap on each side of the headunit.
This is the Scosche TA2079B dash kit
It looks to me like the panel surrounding the stereo needs to be trimmed back to where the silver paint meets the black plastic. I don't want to do this unless it's absolutely necessary, I'm hoping that someone has had this same issue and has found a way around it by either cutting the Scosche kit or doing something less permanent than cutting the OEM trim. Perhaps there is even a different kit that I could order which would fill the gaps appropriately and require not cutting. Please let me know if anyone has a suggestion!
Thanks!
