Scrapper's half-as* build thread

Antenna

So I researched here the best method of installing a new antenna to
replace my broken OEM power one.
I decided the Taco whip had the coolest name and proceeded to order
parts.
Here is what I received when I ordered part # 86300-35090
Description: ANTENNA ASSY. W/HOLD

A shot in the driveway yesterday. Wish I would have looked at it
and I would have retaken it due to that annoying beam of light at
the right headlight.

Nice looking 'runner, Scrapper. Looking forward to pics of the rest of your mods.

Thank you! I'm ready myself.

Great looking 4Runner! I love the tires and front bumper. Keep up the awesome work/updates.

Thanks Dizzy. Those were certainly the two mods that made the most visual impact. I appreciate it.

Looks great! Haha love the "half as*" concept because that's how I do just about everything keep up the good work!

Thanks, JeepKiller. I can't really master anything but I can halfa** a couple of things. lol

Nice looking Scrapper - keep up the half-arseness!

thanks. i will!

Wanna know what the best investment for my truck was?

A cordless impact wrench. A Milwaukee to be exact

Truck is looking good btw. Nice bumper!

Thank you. And I took your advice.

I agree on the cordless impact. I have a Craftsman C3 19.2v impact and it has not failed me yet. Less than $100 at Sears last time I looked.

Your's too. Thanks.

Looking good man, I'm hoping for a smooth change out of my new Shrockworks bumper/LED's when it arrives in July.

Reading through and I cannot figure out the issues you're having with the LED signals...

All I did was clip the factory turn signal wires, and attached them to the LED signals' wiring... Then I was having the "hyper flash" issue, so I went to autozone or orielley's and got the proper relay to fix the issue... I could probably find that relay for you in a bit.

Thank you. I bought the relay. I'll try it.

Your thread is pretty genius so far. Your setup is pretty much how I want mine to look.

I need more pics of the way the front mudflaps look. I can't figure out if I want to run flaps in the front but you raise a good point of having rocks, gravel, sand fly up everywhere and your half a** picture isn't cutting it lol. And how do you like your tires? Any rubbing issues on/offroad?

This right here is "half" the reason I subbed to your thread:

Today each and every one of you will know exactly why I refer to it as a "half ass" build thread.
This will NEVER be nominated a 'sticky' for it's wealth of information.
Though it might be locked for it's profanity and uselessness.

So the freshly powdercoated new CBI bumper is here but if I could
pick the enormously huge, heavy sonofa***** up I would lift it over
my stupid head and throw it through the plate glass living room window.

Getting these god***n bolts off to remove the factory bumper is killing me.
I am so f***ing pissed now I can't even remember what size socket seemed
to ALMOST fit. I still haven't found an exact fit. And these liquid wrench
tolerant f***ing bolts haven't moved unless you count the stripping
that I've caused.

After a look back I will have to agree those pictures suck.
Here are a couple taken in daylight.

As for the tires I only get rub at full turn and flexing simultaneously.
And even then it's minor. The front bumper/lift solved 99% of the rubbing.

Here you go. Hope these help. And thank you!

Much better. I think you got me sold on the mud flaps.

Thanks for the pics. Looking forward to whatever may happen with your build.

Finished the grill mod with the old Land Cruiser emblem I
always wanted to use.
Someone else here gave me the idea.

I've lifted, removed running boards, installed Alpine speakers, Kenwood head unit, GTcovers seat covers in dark grey leather, timing belt, water pump, hoses, LBJ's, and ordered the following:
CBI Offroad Fab T4R3 Front Hybrid Bumper (Powder Coat ,Satin Black/Smooth Finish) purchased today.
Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/16, purchased today
Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers
1996-98 grill for Satoshi grill mod

What lift did you use here? What tire size are these? (it didnt quote the picture, i was referring to your initial lift in the first few posts)

The lift was done at a local shop w/ coil-overs adding 2" but what kind
I have no clue. I wish I was so inclined to do these things and
admire the hell out you all who can pull it off.
The tires are Goodyear Duratracs 285/75/16
Also has Spidertrax spacers.

Excellent. Just bought a set for myself. Took the boards off my Limited, so looks a bit odd with rear flaps but nothing for the front. Thanks for the info.
