Scuff mark on side mirror shell

So I just picked up my 07 TR4 SR5 V8 4WD last week. The lady that owned it before me hit something with the passenger side mirror and the shell is scuffed.

Can it be fixed? I thought about maybe trying some black shoe polish or even a marker but figured I would ask here before I do something stupid :-)

You can try Meguiar's Exterior Detailer to make it look new but the scuff (if it's deep) won't go away.

it's an Sr5, which would lead me to believe the shell is not painted? you can fill the scuff, sand to smooth and paint the shells if it bothers you that much, either black again, or color match, I've seen some, I think the XSP's w/ chrome shell covers. you can search for those too. just some ideas

If you are talking about like a paint scuff and you can visibly see a different kind of paint on it. Use Denatured Alcohol and a cotton towel. It should come off and not damage your finish. (it won't hurt to put a little wax back on it where you wipe but it won't damage it) This was told to my by a body mechanic and it works wonders. I lightly clipped something green years ago with a white plastic bumper and had a 12 inch green mark down my bumper... used this and it took like 10 min to wipe off.

Hope this helps.
