Seafoam & O2 Sensors

I am planning on replacing my O2 sensors this weekend in hopes to clear some lights on my dash. I have been wanting to Seafoam my engine also, but don't really feel like doing it right now. Would it be stupid for me to change my O2 sensors before Seafoaming, or will it have no effect on the new sensors? I know I will need to change my plugs after Seafoaming, so I guess I am just curious what else I should change and what order I should do all the work...

Depending on how dirty the engine and fuel system is, you may be fine or you may foul the plugs, O2 sensors, clog the CAT, etc..

I would do the seafoam first.

Do the Seafoam first. It takes 5 minutes anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Just did the seafoam. That was awesome. I want to do it again just so I can see more smoke. I guess I should do the O2 sensors though.

Do you guys have any tips for replacing my sensors? The front one looks like it would be hard to get a torque wrench on the bolts. Also, how would i torque the rear sensor? Do I need an O2 sensor tool? Or is the torque not so important on these sensors?

They should be held on by a couple of small bolts each. Spray the bolts with some good penetrate oil for a few days first. Try not to drive it whit the oil on it. I like PB Blaster. I also put some anti-seize on the bolts when replacing them. I didn't use a torque wrench. Don't over tighten them, they are small and could break fairly easily. Wipe the oil off when you are finished. Some degreaser will remove the oil.

Thanks. Just curious, why shouldnt I drive after spraying the bolts with PB?

Probably because it will burn the oil off. Just do it overnight and again before you take off the nuts. Those things always get rusted to crap.
