2016 4Runner trail, got in some bad mud this week, pulled my shields off the bottom and found this. Wow did this happen, and any guesses on cost to fix? Going to dealer in the morning.....

It won't cost you anything... It's a new vehicle...

Any chance the dealer blames off road use? I have never had a warranty claim on a car before, not sure if it's a deny first type deal or if Toyota is good about it.

I know my dealership wouldn't care, but... Mums the word. No one has to know. Give her a nice wash down, inspect the undercarriage for cleanliness and roll down to the dealer.

Follow the rule of the 3 "D's"

1. Deny
2. Deny
And finally
3. Deny lol

It's an off road vehicle (Trail, HELLO). They better warranty it or you need to demand the regional manager's contact information. Besides, what I see in that picture can be picked up in a couple days of wet weather on highways......

Let's clean off the dirt and mud before we jump to any conclusions. Hopefully it's just dirty from the fun last weekend.

I cleaned it up, did get what seemed like fresh oil on a drip out of it after.... She is at the dealship now, waiting to hear the verdict.

just point at the ceiling of your trail. 3/4 of the buttons and knobs are to be used in offroad use only. Also present in the manual.

UPDATE - All is well, they went through whole thing and said it was normal. At least it is documented now in case it is not #praisejesus
