Seat Belt warning on/off

When you are in and out of your vehicle and would prefer the seat belt warning chime to take a break here's a little DIY:

Things You'll Need:
Ignition key

Instructions
1-Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position, but do not start the engine.

2-Look for the odometer reset button on the instrument panel and toggle between the odometer reading and the trip odometer a/b reading. Keep pressing the knob until you see "ODO." Turn off the vehicle.

3-Turn the ignition on but do not start the engine. Press the reset button for 10 seconds. While still pressing the button, fasten your seat belt and keep holding the knob for another 5 seconds. The instrument panel will now read "B off." Pressing the button again will toggle it to "B on".

4-Repeat the above procedure to turn the seat belt warning chime back on/off.

Note: this does not disable the initial 5-second seat belt warning chime, just the extended chime and subsequent seat belt removal chimes after the vehicle is running.

I just reached under my seat & unplugged it !

Does this affect the occupancy sensors and in turn affect side airbags?

Unplugging the connector under the seat did nothing but keep the light on all the time in my 03. You can do that on the passenger side, but it will also make it think the seat is unoccupied which will turn off the airbag.

I unplugged the connector under the drivers seat. No light, no chime.
Does not affect any airbags.

No Thanks, not sure this is a good idea. I know this topic only refers to disabling the alarm, but how many people have intent to not use the belt at all?
Wish I would of back in the early 80"s, I'd still have a spleen. Young and foolish I was....
