Brent--- I have a couple seat bottoms ready to go, they're up on eBay if you didn't know.

I've found a back seat on eBay that I think I'm going to buy, but it'll be a bit before I have some covers ready to buy, at least I know now a few of you need back seat covers, I'll keep you posted.

I have a center console coming soon, so my plan is to make some covers for those as well.

I don't own a 4Runner, so if there is any other interior parts that can be re-covered in vinyl I can try and produce them.

I'm not sure so don't quote me on this, but I think the leather seats are the same, though there may be some changes with the center buckle or the latch system of later year 3rd gens.

The cloth seats changed for different years and trim levels I believe.

That's kinda what it looked like from some photos I've been looking at, I guess I'll have to get a leather rear seat, to produce rear leather/vinyl covers. Thanks for the info.

What's the price for vinyl

Classic soft trim leather will to all 4 seats in leather for 999 installed.

That doesn't seem like a bad price, especially with installation as well, selling online takes me out of the installation picture... But as far as eBay products and things like that, I offer a replacement OEM seat bottom for 130.00 compared to other guys leather for 210.00 you save 80.00 going with vinyl.

Please don't take this wrong but I would (and did) spend the extra $80 to get leather which is pretty much a perfect match. The coloring on the vinyl is noticeably different. It is, however, nice to see other options out there. Good luck with your endeavor.

It might be a shade different because the stock leather is 12-15 years old.

No worries, I was surprised the bottom looked a bit darker in the photo above, but I realized that photo was taken in the dark with a flash. In my photo below, it was taken with a lot more natural light which made the old back look darker, in direct sunlight the match seemed even closer, IMO it depends on the lighting and condition of the old leather. It's tough to match something 15-20 years old made out of leather and vinyl, with a brand new vinyl.

You should show us your cover in different lighting like these photos, if the match is as good as you say I'll definitely get some of that leather and make leather covers. Thanks!

And to answer your other question, it all depends on the quality of the product there are different grades to both. High end leather will always win durability, but I'm talking high end aircraft stuff, not the cheap leather they use in factory auto seats, and only the seat surfaces are genuine leather, yet they claim "leather interior" because the vinyl looks and feels like leather, most people cannot tell the difference. My guess is 80% of every average car interior is vinyl. Some higher end vinyls are classified as "recycled leather". They grind up leather trimmings and apply it to the back of vinyl to give it that suede look, like leather has. It's the closest thing to leather I've seen, it feels great too, but it is still vinyl. Something to keep in mind when buying leather products. Dont get me wrong I really like leather it's one of the best products ever, that's why it's being copied, All I'm saying is that vinyl isn't junk like it's been claimed over the years, it has come a long way.

Just about every time I see a blue, red, green 4Runner I think of doing something other than "oak" lol... I'm gonna let people pick out their own stuff for custom orders. Here a link to a supplier of mine that have some good choices.

I replaced mine when I did my seat bottom. What a difference. I would imagine the only place to get it would be Toyota.
