Seat sag? Seat swap.

My drivers seat is noticeably weak on the left side. All of the foam, upper and lower is either compressed or partially disintegrated.

I'm obviously going to look for a junked 3rd Gen 4Runner, but what other Toyotas can I potentially pull seats out of? Tacoma? T100?

This is a good question for compatibility sake...

Some people have a Camry steering wheel for example so you'd think there will would be some other compatibility with other toyotas or Lexus's...

It would be nice to start a thread with all known "PLUG & PLAY" items that will work interchangeably no matter what part we are talking about..

The foam itself can be used either the drivers side or passengers side if you find another 4runner


As for the other mentioned vehicles like our brother 1st gen tacomas or our long lost cousins (the t100's) it would be nice nice to know compatibility..

From my observations I do not believe t100's are plug & play... & front the seat molding I believe tacomas to be slightly different if we are only talking about the foam.. but looks close enough to maybe cram in????

The seat foam from Toyota is the same between my '97 SR5 and some year Camry. Cost about $150 from Camelback.

As an alternative to swapping the whole seat... I swapped out the cracked leather seat bottoms and foam in my 4runner. Threw in seat heaters while at it. Total cost of the project was about $400 but could be done for less if you went with synthetic leather instead of the real stuff, or if you have cloth. It was my first attempt at upholstery work but I think it came out great and I love having heated seats. Upholstery work does beat the heck out of your hands though.
