Seattle Area Maintenance and Meet

Does anyone around the Seattle area know a good mechanic to get a 4runner checked out by, before i buy it from a dealer?

I just used KarCheck. They are a mobile service that comes to you. $99 flat for about 90 minutes of check. He (Jim) did a great job and was thorough. Scanned the computer, jacked it up, tested suspension, crawled around underneath, tasted the AT fluid (Ok he just smelled it), checked out all mechanical and electrical equipment as well as the body and frame, even test drove it.

Nice part is that he is kind of like a home inspector...he is not going to be doing the repairs so he is not biased at all. He just tells you like it is and leaves it up to you.

Dont have their info but check it out on google. He is based out of Everett but serves the "greater seattle area". Oh and I had him check out the 4runner I bought on a sunday.

Summary: Inexpensive, thorough, unbiased, comes to you, open weekends.

Hey folks, I'm in the Seattle area too. Looking for spots for some weekend off roading. I'm not interested in tons of Mud or lots of rocks but trail/open land sounds like good times :driving:. Any ideas that are not too far away would be appreciated!

Alright I think I'm in! The wife wants to be in Seattle that weekend anyhow. Ill be in my new (to me) 02 sport. No mods that I have found so far apart from the shrockworks front bumper. Hopefully there will be a handful of other stock runners we can trail along with!

Where is it that we're meeting??? I see the posts about a Safeway somewhere but I'm completely foreign to the area.. Can anyone give me a better description or an address I can plug into the gps???

It seems that you know Evans better than I do. If you have any other trail suggestions fire away. I am up for some challenging trails, but this is shaping up to be a pretty big meet(judging by how many peeps say they are coming) and some have stock or close to stock setups, so I'd like to keep the trails friendly to all if possible so we can all go out and have fun. I'm sure we can all branch off later. You're truck seems to be probably the most capable here, so I can understand why you want to throw some obstacles at it! I dont have sliders on yet, and I doubt I will by then, and my truck is pretty clean, so I dont want to eff it up, thats all I know.

I believe there is only one Safeway in Enumclaw, and it is on HWY 410 on your way out of town towards Rainier. Address is 152 Roosevelt Ave E if you need it. Bring your dog, I'm bringing mine.

Ha, well if people want to get some sliders before then, I just bought a welder if you want to get them put on. I'm not the most "artistic" at welding, but it will definitely hold. I love how reasonably priced the 4xinnovation sliders are - probably one of my favorite purchases.

I've been to Evan's once, so I don't know it all that well... but I did the 520 trail. I wouldnt recommend that one without sliders / skids. I just watched that 311 video a few posts back and wasn't too thrilled. But I most definitely agree, from the sounds of it, we have a large group and different levels/setups. We will just have to plan accordingly!

Definitely. Think a good get together and simple trail run will be the best.

AHHHH I have to miss out!!! I have been pumped for this get together since I saw the idea posted, SUPER pumped since I got the thumbs up from the wife to come.
