Ha, yeah I agree... This snow is keeping all of the good wheeling spots buried. PNWRunner - how was tinkham? We do need to get a future trip planned tho.

The weather was pretty nasty when I woke up that morning, didnt want to go up there by myself and get crushed by a tree. Ive got this weekend off if anybody wants to go
I MAY be up, depends on when you had in mind. Hopefully we get some fresh snow. A lot easier to get around in than ice.

I've got a 2.5 ton floor jack in the garage that works well. I'm sure 4ton will more than suffice. It's really all about height, ha.

Btw, good point:
I've got my set of rear coils from my original SS1.2 Kit up for grabs! I believe they are the 7.5 or 8 wrap coils? Only about 30k miles on them. I'll offer them local to save on shipping first. 100 bucks!

Hey guys, I've been looking over this thread for a while now, didn't really have anything to say. I've asked PNWRunner a ton of questions already/ bought some 9 wraps from him. I also have pieced together a 3" lift for the front & 5 for the back with the 9 wraps I guess. Its hard to look at all the parts for the lift in my garage everyday but will be installing it at home/teaching myself how to over spring break. Anyways, I know that the rig will look bad with stock tires with that lift, so I'm looking into tire sizes/ am on a budget as well so looking to pick some used one off cl for now.
- can i clear 285/70/17's with just a 3" lift (no body lift and stock UCA's) ?
- what does it mean when they have 33's or 35's? (i think 285/70/17 is equal to 33's?)
- what can i clear without a BL and with stock UCA's?
I really want MTR's but looks like im gunna go with used KM2's for now. Thanks in advance!

When is your break? I'm in Bellevue too. My work is going to be pretty hectic over the next several weeks, but if I can break free I'd be down to lend a hand.
And my answers to your questions (not necessarily the right answers, so take them with a grain of salt)
-you should be able to clear them. You might have some rubbing so some pounding and cutting might be needed
-33's are just that 33" tall tires. 35's are 35" tall. And yes, those 285's are technically just under 33" tall
-clearance, especially when it comes to your UCA's will also depend on the offset of the wheels you run.

Anyone know how to find out, instead of taking them off, if my 97 4runner has captive rear LCA bushings or not? This thread describes a lot of problems I currently have.
I know me and [MENTION=44988]theizzardking[/MENTION] were talking about this when I picked up his tires for testing. Don't mind taking them off but if I can avoid it, I would like too.

those 9 wraps you have are gonna give you more like 6" of lift... unless you have some -read a lot of weight in the back, like a aftermarket bumper with tire carrier ect. im running 8wraps and have close to 5.5 of lift in the back

Well I gave my vin to the dealerership and they confirmed what I didn't want to hear, I have to purchase the whole LCA. [MENTION=83356]rideexileex[/MENTION] is the one you have the replaceable bushing kind? I would like to replace both to that kind and yes I'd buy your one, it'd save me some money.

You're free to have the link - its just sitting in the garage getting dust on it. I would also look into the aftermarket options and see whats available. You might be able to press out the old ones and press in some replacements? Energy suspension might have something... I know they've got kits for all the front control arms, so you might have some luck with the rears?
