Trails are awesome - its dry over there so plenty of traction this time of year, and a bit dusty. It's unique over there - the trails aren't too tough. I think Evans is much worse. I would imagine that, if driving with a lift and caution, you shouldnt need the sliders much.

Cool. I've heard there are some nice views out there too. I'm going to see if a couple buddies want to ride along and ill probably join you guys. Are lots of people planning on going?

Hello Seattle! So my brother who i haven't seen in a while is working up in Vancouver right now. We are trying to setup a spur of the moment camping trip for this weekend, I live in Portland by the way.
Im lookin for a spot, and hoping some of you might be able to recommend. I like primitive and remote, trails a + but not reqd. Riverside is nice but mountains or oceans never disappoint either. Hotsprings are not frowned on either, but raucous partygoers who sometimes frequent them can be a challenge to tolerate lol.
I was thinking N. Cascades N.P. but i have a dog so thats a no go. Same with Olympic N.P. can you guys recommend any epic carcamping spots somewhere between Seattle and BC? Im open to cascades or the peninsula. I tread lightly also, any suggestions?

Do you need the amenities of an established campground? Such as running water and bathrooms?

i'd suggest stomping around trout lake, it's right there by you guys 100's of miles of Forrest service roads, has most everything you listed and is less traveled than some of the parks your suggesting.
if your really ballsy you can also go to the trout lake rangers station and ask them about the hidden lava tubes you can go and crawl through... mention dead horse.....
there's a few spots where you can get a vantage point and check out the big 4 down there, rainier,adams,hood and st.helens are all visible from some of the roads heading up adams....plus if you feel like it adams is a great foray into mountaineering..south spur heading up to the lunch counter.
otherwise, there's really too much to list as there's lots of places that meet your requirements....oly np has great camping outside of the park that's dog friendly... ask hepar about some of the camping spots and cabins you can rent over there, he heads out there for surfing a bit and will remember the names better than me.

Izz and Hep, thx guys, i knew i could count on you.
I dont need amenities like restrooms and water, in fact id like to avoid them, and the people around them lol.
Im all set for backcountry. Ive always wanted to explore Adams but im looking for something more north of seattle. I was thinkin about something in the olympics, maybe my bro could catch a ferry from vanc and i could pick him up in port angeles, or we could meet up in bellingham and head into the cascades from there. I almost made it to baker once but got turned around.
So yeah, im fully self contained and lookin for something off the beaten path. Not even a specific spot per say but if there was like a nice river with a bunch of primitive spots along it or somethin like that you guys could point me to. The more epic the betterer
i wont share your spots with all my homeless friends i promise.

If you hit up the Olympic Penn, I really don't know a lot of spots outside of where I go surfing which are spots along the coast. I do know there are spots on the strait side all along as you drive it. Right off the 112.
If you head up to the North Cascades, same deal. There are spots all along there, but I don't know the specifics. There's this really cool spot that is before Diablo lake. You would go north off of highway 20 on a forest service road and that road runs for a short time along a small tributary of the Skagit river. Wish I knew more than that.
If you feel like heading east on highway 2, let me know and I can definitely point you to some epic spots outside of Leavenworth.

Exactly what i was hoping for, thanks Hepar. We're gonna be pushing it for daylight hours tomorrow. At least i know now theres a better chance at snaggin a good spot if we end up landing after daylight hours.

I'm out in spanaway, toward roy area. Yeah if you're free that would be cool. Probably going to be doing it sometime during the week though since I'm not currently working. My dad will be there to help and he has 40+ years experience haha, I was just wondering if there was any tips to make it easier. (i.e. open the hatch because it makes the back of the truck lighter, or something)
