Seattle Area Maintenance and Meet

Hey guys for anyone who's interested I'm going on a run up on Tonga Ridge up off of highway 2 with some guys from Tacoma world. Mainly forest roads and snow. Meeting at the Safeway in Monroe at 10 if anyone is interested

It was alright. The mud was pretty boogery with the low temps and the frost on top. Only a couple guys showed up. An XJ and TJ both on 33s. 4 recoveries and not one of them was me. :whoo: Came across some jackass with a $300 F-150 the was beating on. Watched him get stuck then have one of his buddies try to pull him out with a 4 Wheeler. We laughed and pointed for a few before he asked for help. Of course we helped. I'm pretty bored with Walker. I'd like to wheel Reiter a little more. I'd almost consider the trip. I've been watching the trails being built. They are looking pretty good for being purpose built.

Christmas Tree Run this weekend with the club. Won't be anything wild but still better than a day spent working.
 
Yeah I was quite shocked with Walker the one time I did it. According to the maps we had, we did every trail from what I can remember, and didn't find anything to be too crazy. There was one trail that we did semi enjoy, but I dont remember its name... (it was fairly short, with root sections to begin with, and then uphill, multi-route S turns? if that sounds familiar...) I heard Reiter was still a pretty short run? I'd be up to try it if you want to plan a weekend

Yeah, it's still pretty short. Right now there is only 3 trails. The first one they built, the connector and the newest one. Here's the latest map: http://www.dnr.wa.gov/Publications/amp_rec_reiter_4x4_map.pdf There does seem to be a lot more obstacles and less trail riding area. Crash on NW-Wheelers just posted a video on the new trail. Looks like fun.

I'm definitely down to BS, kick tires, and hit Reiter at some point. My schedule is pretty packed until after the beginning of February. We have a run this weekend, then Christmas and the bazillion parties to go to, hang over run and KOH in February. Maybe we can cram a run in sometime in January.

Every year the club does a Hang Over Run. New Year's Day we go to Tonga Ridge. 1st one to the top (or highest mark) wins. It's all bragging rights. It's a little less family friendly than the Tree Run.

As of right now, I am going to the Hammers. The truck is staying home though. No room on the trailer. Should still be a blast though.

No offense, but asking $100 for a 14yo stock stereo is pretty ridiculous. Especially considering you can get an aftermarket deck that has iPod and bluetooth connections for the same price.
 
I need some help. Has anyone installed UCAs? I can't seem to even get the arm and spindle separated. Broke the ball joint puller so gave up for tonight.

The separator broke, a fork and hammer didnt work, so I got a bigger hammer, and then the grinder.... problem solved. I never did get the joint out of the arm. But its off and the new arm is on.

Hopefully the drivers side goes smoother.

Dang. My upper boot is torn and I've been wanting to replace just the boot but I've run into the sam problem. Thrown just about everything at it to try and separate it and it hasn't budged.

A-Arms look good though!

Propane torch might work, or just get more frustrated and hit it harder.
