Howdy,

Do any of you know of a local place that reboots CV's? I'm planning on lifting soon and know that my current ones are going to tear when I do.

I know that I can get some through autozone with a lifetime warranty, but preferred to keep the higher quality stock ones if I could. However, rebooting looks like a bit of a messy PITA, so I'd like to pay someone else to do it if I can.

I don't know how much re booting is but I do know that its cheaper and usually easier to just swap the whole thing. I got the lifetime warranty ones and already replaced them once from breaking it on a snow wheeling run.

Anyone feeling up for a trail run before it gets snowy? I was thinking maybe Evans creek, or some mountain roads, I'm up for anything., even camping. Any suggestions?

People seem to at least look at that more than here I think for local stuff (even if local gatherings are a bit slow to happen right now, give it time).

I'd be down but not sure when I'll have the time. Was hoping to day trip tomorrow but the weather may be prohibitive of that. While I like a challenge I don't like the chances of a tree falling on me due to wind, we'll see what the weather brings.

I told Alex the same thing. Was looking forward to trying out the new lift and tires.

Hey guys, I finally got my lift together. It has taken a long time... and money.... but I picked up a Sanoran Steel 1.2 rear lift, SS drop diff spacer, some King 2.5 Extended Travel Coilovers, as well as some SPC Light Racing UCAs. My plan is to try to get them installed sometime this weekend.

If anyone is bored, and or wants to lend a hand getting this put together, that would be awesome. Otherwise I will try to enlist the help of a friend to make it happen. I just figured it might be nice to have someone who knows lifts and 4runners involved. As far as tools, I need to pick up a good floor jack and some 6 ton jack stands. If anyone is down, I would of course provide some cold beverages, lunch, and some greenbacks for your free time.

Anyway, I can't wait to get this sorted so I can hit some of our great trails.

I hope to meet you guys sooner or later.

When are you trying to do it? Dry and warmish space? I'm solar powered, so not so stoked about wrenching in the cold (yes, anything under 70 to me is cold!), but would be down to help if I'm free. I also have some jack stands and a jack either way that you could borrow.

Ha! No worries. I hear you about the weather. Unfortunately my place was built in the 1950s and has an annoyingly narrow AND a low ceiling. My luck, I would get it all sorted and realize I couldn't get out of my garage. :ballchain:

I will probably just enlist the help of my mechanic friend again schedule permitting. And thank you for the offer of borrowing the stands and jack, but I think I need to suck it up and start buying these useful items. Much appreciated.

Hey Guys,

Just got tundra brakes installed on my rig - man what a difference. Anyway, for those of you who don't have the time or skill or are a bit of a princess like me, Bret's Auto Care in Lynnwood did the installation for me. I bought all the parts from O'Reilly's and dropped off my rig and the parts and they got it handled. Cost me $300.00 for them to do it. Not sure if this is valuable to anyone but I was looking for a place to do it since my free time is occupied by a 9 month old.

So I have some new shoes on their way to me. I picked up some 285/75/16 KO2s during the DT ebay sale. I have a Firestone lifetime alignment, (actually, maybe not if I get new tires?... I'll have to look into that), but do you guys know of a place that you would recommend getting a good alignment? Maybe somewhere that specializes in 4x4 that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Hopefully the combo of my Pro Comp 7069 4"BS and SPC light racing UCAs will give enough flexibility to not have to pound the bejesus out of the pinch welds to get them to play nice in the wheel wells.
