well this is the first one "officially" for us, there isnt a set scheduled like once a month of every other month. its just kinda happened that we all had this weekend free and are able to do this. you should come and check it out, maybe get some good ideas first hand on what to do to your runner, even if you dont want to "build it up". most of us have all done mods to help prolong the lives of our rigs and you might see some cool mods that you want to do yourself some time...

thanks! Yeah its a hole due to rust. that's all i could really find wrong with it, the car came from NY. I need to replace that chrome piece and take it into a shop and have them scrap off the little under body rust and have it sealed. Besides that with 97k miles its a pretty clean 4runner.

nope good ol craigslist. Im happy with the purchase, i feel i paid a fair price. plus the people weren't scamers, very honest and upfront with every little defect. too many scamers on craigslist makes it hard buying a car.

Yeah, you can find some great deals on CL, but you definitely have to weed through a lot of crap sometimes.

Great meet today guys. Good to finally put some faces to some of the random user names here. Some of the things I learned:

-With the right tools, changing the CV's is a breeze

-If I ever pay someone to change the brake pads, I am one of the biggest idiots on the planet.

-I still can't replace a stupid $8 boot cover on my UBJ

-A $12 part from Toyota for the rear diff breather mod (union fitting) is $2.99 at Auto Zone and it's not necessary to buy a new breather if your stock one is in decent condition.

-I will be supercharged at some point.

It was a good meet. Thanks for coming out guys, it was def beneficial. I learned 2 new things on this meet, cv's and the rear diff breather... which are 2 very easy fixes I will be doing as soon as I take care of the head gasket.......:gun4:

oh and hepar.. when I was talking about a pickle fork.. I had no idea it was like a prying tool, I thought it was the tool yall were using to try and fix your ubj. I was talking to my toyota buddy and he was explaining it to me and it made way more sense than what I had imagined in my head.... lol So if you want to try it again soon I am down. I am 93.9 % sure atleast one of mine are bad.
