Possibly so. I laugh internally when I see these old school devices every now and then, but after this, I might be investing in one.

Yeah, I feel that same way when i see them. However, I got one of the highly visible orange bars that that locks to the steering wheel and rests on the dash. It could be defeated with a cordless angle grinder in 20 seconds, but i use it more as a message: "This person cares about security and there are probably other deterrents to get through".....I hope. I hope they'll move on. I live in a F'd up place, so I can only really hope for the best.

Great news! My vehicle was recovered on Wednesday! The bad news: anything worth even $1 was taken from inside it before it was recovered. They even went as far as to take my floor mats, which weren't that great. Hell, they even took the 16 cents that I had in the ashtray. Unfortunately, I had A LOT of my tools that I use for work in there as well. I just completed the inventory list for the insurance man (my renter's insurance will hopefully cover it) and it came up to $9,000. Those crack heads won the lottery when they stole my car.

That's great - happy for you. I was thinking of this thread half an hour ago when I exited the store and walked to my truck in the parking lot. Looks good enough to steal I decided.
Any clue how they got it? Was the ignition cylinder pulled?
