Hello all. I have a 1999 T4R SR5 3.4L 4X4. My vehicle was recently stolen and I just got it back. Now I am going through it and assessing the damage as well as looking into ways to prevent this in the future. I was looking into and researching online about the factory security system, as something as simple as the horn honking could have prevented this theft.
Shortly after buying the vehicle back in 2014, I bought a keyfob to lock and unlock the doors. After programming this, the "Toyota Security" device on the left side of the steering wheel would flash when it was locked with the fob. The light does not flash when locking with the door button. I tested the security system back then, and if I rolled the window down and locked the car with the fob, reaching in and opening the door would cause the alarm to go off. I have not tested this since then.
I read a few threads on here about the factory alarm system and everything I read said there should be a box located under the driver's seat or behind the dash that controls the security. I looked under the seat and did not see the box, so I looked under/behind the dash. While I was investigating under the dash, I found this connector that may or may nor be factory; I am leaning towards not factory, as it looks like it was spliced in near the interior fuse box. Actually, as I type this, I am looking at the pictures, the only wires that are spliced in do not go into the connector.
It is a flat, 14-pin connector that has a sticker on it that reads "KEEP THIS SIDE UP" and HWAXE01B 4". I googled this last bit and came up empty-handed.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this is supposed to be connected to?
