I have a 03 4runner v8 sport. I unplugged my battery and when I plugged it back up the car alarm went off. I don't have my key fob just my porter key which starts the car and opens the doors (not push button). I locked the doors and unlocked them alarm still goes off. I put the key in the ignition and it started but alarm still goes off. I have no idea what I can do. Any help??

Finally got it to stop going off. Here's how. First off a little back ground. You only need to do this if you no longer have the black keys only gray key/ porter key. First make sure that the alarm button is turned off (in the out position). Next open the door. While the door is open turn the key to the on position but don't start. Push the alarm button in. This should make the alarm stop going off. This information is courtesy of Jim McNatt Toyota in Denton Tx. The service manager sat on the phone with me and walked me though a lot to try and get it salved for free. Pretty darn cool.
