Selling a car with Lien from Toyota

Hello

So my girlfriend is considering selling her 2015 Limited (with only 3,900 miles or so)

She financed it through Southeast Toyota Financial (SETF) which I guess is Omnicorp and owes about $19,000 on it.

Has anyone gone through the process of selling with a lien on the vehicle? Is it possible for the buyer to pay if off, or is it necessary for us to pay it off to be able to sell it?

Selling a car private party with a lien is pretty straight forward as long as the buyer is ok with it and waiting for the title. Do all of your states required DMV paperwork at the time of sale, you or the buyer send a certified check to the lien holder or EFT if allowed for the current pay off, Wait for the title then sign it over to the buyer. Wait times for the title can vary by state and paper or paperless titles.
Sold My Z06 which had a lien and went smoothly other than waiting on the title.

I just bought a 2015 Yamaha Waverunner in a private sale that has a lien from Yamaha. I paid off the persons loan and I am now waiting on the trailer title and waverunner registration to get to me. If the buyer needs the vehicle right away it is not a good choice for them. The buyer should write up a good bill of sale so they have something to fall back on if something goes wrong. The buyer may not want to pay in full until the title is available.
