sequoia rear hatch doesn't always lock

Hopefully someone has experienced a similar thing with their 4runner and can help me out with my sequoia. The rear hatch on my 2005 sequoia doesn't always lock. I did replace the hatch handle and wondering if this could be part of the problem. The hatch closes fine and I don't have any other issues. I'm able to lock all the other doors just fine. Is there an adjustment I need to do to insure that the rear hatch will always lock? Appreciate any help. Thanks Mm

It could just be the lock actuator sticking. You might just try to clean up and lube the actuator gears and parts. Or worst case a short in the wiring to the actuator.
