Sequoia vs Yukon XL vs Surburban

Like riding on an air mattress I would imagine? It looks 2 times bigger than the runner, it must feel huge on the inside

The 3rd row of the sequoia is the same width as the 2nd row of the 5th gen. The front seat has a 1ft+ gap between the seats. The drive is significantly better than the Yukon xl.

Do you got any plans for her? I know it's rare to see a modded Sequoia.

The plan is to keep it as stock as possible. I think I might some new rims though. Personally I think that they are pretty ugly. Maybe tires and rims one day but for now, we're keeping it stock.

Good choice, that car is more practical for a large family. Or just one who simply needs a third row.
 
Does the Canadian SR5 have the same options as the US Limited?

I just bought a 2014 Limited. I had to move up to the Limited because the SR5 had so few options. The vehicle is huge compared to my previous 5th Gen T4R yet didn't come with the standard rear backup camera and parking sensors that my T4R came with.

Couldn't be happier that I moved up to a Sequoia. Gave me a lot more room for the family, increased tow capacity for the camper I'm hoping to buy this year, and took away the feeling of the sluggish acceleration and nose dive braking. I love it.

Only plans I have for mine is tint and WeatherTech mats. Other than that it's staying stock.

I agree completely. I still have the 5th gen and I found it to be sluggish compared to my 4th gen. With the 4th gen gone and the sequoia, I feel like the difference in acceleration is a completely different ball game. But in all fairness, neither 4runner nor Sequoia was meant to goo fast.

In terms of the US vs Canadian version, my SR5 has both the sensors and the rear camera. I believe that is standard on all Canadian versions whether SR5, Limited or Platinum. For my use, I find the Sequoia to work well for us.

Now the true test will be getting down the trails on our acreage. It might prove to be difficult, but it might be the perfect reason to get a side by side or another atv. :)
 
I'd have a tough time picking between a new gen Tahoe and same my sequoia. The GM full size SUVs have great reliability records and have good resale just like the sequoia.

Congrats! It'll last you hundreds of thousands of miles if maintained.
 
Nice truck! I bought my wife a 07 Limited and I wanted to buy her a 13 Limited. The only thing she didn't like were the body,out of the 2. The silver is sexy. My wife wasn't having it. Great choice.
 
I've never ridden or driven a Sequoia but i have had both Suburbans and Tahoes. And I love them. I'd have one again, if not for the lure of the mods on the 4R~~

I actually like the Tahoe body better but Toyota reliability is well worth it.

My parents had a 2006 Sequoia once upon a time. We got into an accident with a bus on a freeway and all 4 passengers walked away with only mild neck pains. They then got tboned at an intersection by a guy driving a jimmy so fast that the sequoia did a 180 on dry pavement. That time too, they walked away with only mild neck pains. At the tbone scene, the p.o. Said that he had never seen anybody walk away from a scene like that.

So when it came to getting a new family car, it was a no brainer. It's just that the price and body style of the Tahoe just looks so good. Hahaha

But in all fairness, they're are TONS of available parts for the American trucks. You can really make them unique in so many different combinations. That was another reason why I was considering the American trucks. There 4th gen was rather difficult to get aftermarket parts for, especially in canada.

That's good to hear about those tragic encounters and glad to hear your family walked away with no major injuries. That's peace of mind for me.

Is that hidden winch mounted on a custom plate or are there actual company's that have parts for the Sequoia? I've only been able to find light bars.

Unfortunately, everything is custom for the Sequoia. There's virtually no aftermarket support for it. The front end is the same as the Tundra which is nice. I have front Icon's but the rear suspension is complete custom King Shocks.

Here are my rock sliders getting made;


Slider mounting plates welded to frame.


Custom winch mount


Mount prior to additional reinforcements.


Custom king shocks and springs
 
Here was my '13 Tahoe Hybrid. Awesome truck. Very roomy. 19mpg regular unleaded all day. Super quiet and reliable.
