Seriously. who's right?

So I picked up my axles. No more wobble from the backing plate. I'm glad I stuck to my guns. I actually got there as they were pressing the last one together. I appreciate all the input here. Truly.

Alright I'm confused, were the backing plates wobbling while the axles were installed on the truck or out? If they were out, there is a little wobble to the backing plate (about 1/4" grabbing the backing plate at 12 and 6 o clock and moving in an out. I've done 3 of these using all OEM parts and doing my own press work and they moved a little, when in the right position. Now if you press them on too tight up against the outer dust boot it wont wobble but then the axle doesn't turn as freely. Trust me, it's supposed to wobble a little, no doubt.

The wobble was only apparent with the axle assembly out. I have never owned a 4runner before so this seemed unusual. They are not as wobbly now. I understand the studs once bolted to the axle tubes snugs everything up. The axles do spin freely so I don't think they're too tight.

At 233k both side of rear axle was leaking. So I decided to change bearing and seals. So glad I did, the ride was so much smoother and quieter.
