Service 4WD (2011 4Runner)

Hey everyone,
A quick question to you folks. When it says '4WD service' - what does it mean? I mean, wanted to ask you guys what part failed and requires service? Or it will be better to go and check the error codes first?
I thought, maybe that is a common issue and there is a quick solution for this...

Okay, so here's a quick update. I took my 4Runner to the tech, and in my case the problem is about a transfer case motor, which failed. I decided to grab an aftermarket one (https://www.carid.com/transfer-cases.html) to save a bit on the repair, so will get the job done once it arrives...
