That was beyond classless, to think someone would actually think it was funny to yank a potential buyer's chain. Now the poor guy probably has the dealership thinking he's a nutcase. This isn't the first time I've noticed this particular poster acting to the detriment of this board.

Brownshoes, SSt4r is correct most of the people here are very respectful and appreciate the chance to get and exchange information. Hopefully we won't be seeing this person around anymore. In the meantime I'd suggest you just be honest and tell the salespeople you fell victim to someone's warped idea of humor. We've all been there at one time or another, so they'll understand. snhrph I hear you, my brother was a college professor in New Jersey for several decades before retiring to Delaware. His son still lives there right across from Philly with his family. You'd have to search a long time to find a better person, and his son turned out to be a class act too. I think we can agree it's never a good idea to sweep every member of a class into the same pot.

That being said I'm not thinking 4Beast meant to say New Jersey people are douche bags, although no one could blame you for taking it that way. While it was poorly worded, I read the comment as saying people from New Jersey who are douche bags, are in a class by themselves. A la the Jersey Shore crowd, and the person who pulled the unfortunate stunt in this thread.

First off, thanks to those who posted constructive info. If eskimo was banned I am sorry about that, it sounds like a longer story that is better told over a beer or two. I have been a member of various forums for about 15 years and have come to respect and value the thoughts of the members much more so than any dealer. This one totally took me by surprise. I have always thought that the members were all enthusiasts and as such were looking out for each other. Have I ribbed other members throughout the years, absolutely, but never a new addition to the forum seeking direct vehicle information and never in a malicious way. Honestly, this is my first bad experience.
To the point at hand. Yes, I did end up buying the vehicle. Dealer thinks me a bit loopy but I am ok with that.
Next, on to the mods. I have already ordered the PACK SWI and KCA-ip301v cables for the Kenwood DNX 5140. I will probably end up getting the back up camera and Sirius module for it as well. Once I read the manual and forum a bit more I will probably end up doing the VSC mod, foglight mod and interior lighting mods before moving on to other things.
Finally, I know, I know, pics. I will post some shortly.
Thanks again and keep up the good work here. I hope to start contributing shortly. I will have to see what the guys at Rock Krawler have available for the 4runner.
