Shall I get the KDSS on my Future T4R?

well, i have to chime in on this one.
the Pro would still cost less than even a 2WD T4R Limited if they offered KDDS on it.
pro base msrp $42,180 + $1350 kdds = 43,530
limited 2WD 43,665... AWD $45,400
i think the KDDS is an awesome add on if you only plan mild (1-3") suspensions mods and plan on using it to off road and as your daily driver, as many here said. The only con of a system like the KDDS is that it does limit you IF you plan on getting crazier on the suspension with longer travel systems and such. Also some (i fall in this group) might say reliability can be an issue if you're off roading your truck a lot or harder than average.
otherwise id say get it if the extra money is not a issue, i opted for a 4R without it so that i didn't have to worry about it, but my 4R is not my daily driver.

The dealer here said adding KDSS to a pro would be about $8000 imparts and labor. It a $1700 option on theTE. Where did you see it for $1350?

in my area anyway, there's no such thing as a 2WD Limited. beyond that:
$43900 = Limited MSRP
$42195 = TRD Pro MSRP
(+ imaginary KDSS option for $1750)
$43945= "KDSS TRD Pro" MSRP
it seems pretty clear to me that, all other considerations aside, the pricing of a KDSS-equipped Pro would present a marketing conundrum.

He didn't see it for $1,350. It's a $1,750 adder to the TE list price.
A dealer couldn't add KDSS to a 4Runner economically (or even uneconomically) as there is a BUNCH of wiring and bunches of parts to the KDSS system. In addition to that they would have to change the LCA's, sway bars, the Crawl Control Unit and controller... holy crap!

$41,875 = Trail Premium WITH KDSS + TRD wheels + TRD skid plates.
- I think this presents the largest problem - you can build a better TRD pro for less when you consider you can actually buy this for ~$38k OTD + $800 tires + $750 Bilstein 6220 struts and rears and you're into a TRD pro with KDSS and a sunroof. Add a hidden winch mount and winch and you're right at TRD Pro out the door price.

were talking if toyota offered it as an option (not me going out to buy it and out it on) which the toyota site shows as a 1350 option on TE.

out of curiosity, where are you finding this 43.9 limited awe 4r? i cannot build one for less than 45,500 on the toyota site to safe my life. I can build a 2wd close to that. and all the 4Rs that offer kdds on the site shows 1350 for the option. does it change that much from state to state?

I can't even build a 2WD LE where I live. Below will be a screen shot for the $43.9K.
The $1350 for KDSS is a bundle price. It includes a "discount" and rigid running boards. Before that and I'm sure after this big limited time offer the KDSS was, and will be, $1,750.

ok, so i guess here in CA this is the cheapest one can built a limited, you cant uncheck the packages, you have to choose one or the other..i did manage to lower it a tad by unchecking he $500 paint job thats selected by default.
also..when does the $1000 anniversary discount on the limited expire that the TRDPros don't get? i didn't crop

I can't build a Pro here. I didn't pay any attention to my cropping I just quickly sized it to fit. On our TEP build the KDSS was bundled and showed no other discount and the LE had no discount at all. I guess just different prices and options for different regions. The Pro I drove and others I have saw on the local lot were priced around $45K with no options on the Maroney sticker list.
So I guess your Pro is cheaper and our LE is cheaper!
