Thanks for the recommend Shawn, just received and installed my kit. Nice mod, very happy. Nestor is a class act, very prompt and well packaged product...would definitely recommend.

Looks really nice, I haven't seen to many red/black T4R's, your looks great. I think that once you dip the wheels and install the lift it will look pretty aggressive.
Your mod list says "blacked out chrome", so you took your headlights apart and painted them as well? I just cant tell if your ordered the TE ones or painted them yourself, either way it all ties in very nicely. :bravo:

Shrockworks Rock Sliders
Ok, so sliders have arrived - a long wait, but, nevertheless, they did arrive as promised and look good in packaging.
At the end of the day I pulled the 4R into the garage to start the transformation. I had a couple guys from work help me out and it took all of 45 minutes to mount/secure sliders in place. Very easy process and I did not have to move/modify/or tie wrap anything out of the way. (Very pleased with that)
As a matter of fact I was able to secure each mount with three bolts each (see pics).
I prepped the area with a squirt of WD40 and then went to work.
The frame accomodated all but one of the bolts with the nuts already in place on the frame. Shrockworks did include quite a few "nuts on a stick" to reach places where no "factory nut" existed (again, I only had to use one of these). Even without using the one "nut on a stick" I feel the sliders would have been securely fastened with the remianing bolts already in place.
I was short two lock washers in the packaging, but , as I am a hoarder of such things I have a ready supply.
I did, as other forum members suggested, support the gas tank before removing the tank strap bolt (made life much easier, I am sure.)
All went well, but I did notice one flaw after mounting the sliders. The flaw is in the coating (pics on next post). Looks like main coating was damaged and retouched. Just not sure if the retouch will hold up with the main coat. The mar is on the outside as well, so hard not to notice now that the slider is mounted. I will reach out to Shrockworks via email, but, would rather not have to remove slider - I am sure we can work out something (Ill post results later).
Besides the wait time, "cosmetic flaw" or "chink in the armor" (especially after waiting) I can say that I am pleased with the quality, build, fit, accompanying hardware and instructions.
Now I just have to get used to having the slider right below when I step in and out of the 4R.

Beginning and end. I plan on working on trim - one step at a time. (either trim existing and remounting, or spend the dough for the TE pieces (probably will trim and use TE trim money for other goodies).
Looking next to Plastidip wheels and a slight lift.

Thanks bro - I took a leap of faith and pulled the headlights apart. Worked great and have had no issues whatsoever.

Hey Shawn,
First time I've seen your build and your truck is looking good, I really like the Salsa red with the blacked out chrome it looks svelt :thumb3: Sliders are looking great too! (to bad on the crappy chip repair) I painted the area behind where the rockers mount/covered black to kinda hide it for now, I do plan on getting the Trail rockers at some point. Gona look great once you get the lift installed :bigok:
A couple of questions on your Firestik. Are you using it for both AM/FM and CB? Is the FM/CB splitter included with the kit from Nestor? How is the reception with the two footer?

Thanks brother - you all are leading the way with your builds. I am just sponging off of the ideas - so, thanks back to you and all.
For the paint flaw - I have an email out to Shrockworks - I am hopeful we'll get it taken care to some degree.
As for the antenna. I have yet to mount CB - so just for radio, for now. As for reception I have not noticed a decline in coverage and if I were to compare to OEM I would say reception has improved.
As for the splitter I would def speak with Nestor and/or venture over to the FJForums as they seem to be leading the way in regards to the Firestik and Nestor's (NestahEdition) mod.

Shrockworks cleanup
After installing the rocksliders I thought I could live with the missing trim...couldnt do it.
I considered going the TE trim route,but, thought to give modding the trim a shot. Well, after more than a few trial and errors and follwoing great posts/guidance from those who have gone before (thank you to those that have!) I finished.
Here are few shots before and after. I was able to add a little "round" at the front by tracing trim with the end of a scrap piece of 1.50" pvc I had. Not perfect but it is good enough for government work (ha ha...ha?).
I painted the chrome trim with Krylon Fusion but did not care for the look so I pulled the pieces off and sanded and repainted with PalstiDip. That stuff (Plastidip) worked so well (and looked good) that I repainted the front-end chrome pieces as well (worked great). Went as far as to paint the "SR5" on both sides of vehicle.
Plan is to paint the rims as well, but want to get the new springs and struts in first (stuff is sitting in garage waiting for my procrastination to end...).
By the way - Antman, the eyebrow template arrived in good order and served its purpose to perfection! The art was something to behold! ha ha - Thank you. Your items :hungry: are on the road somewhere with the U.S. Post. Enjoy! Thanks again.

Thanks for the pic's now I know for sure I will be buying the Gobi as soon as I get the Ok from the boss, however since she has also seen your pic's it has made her lean my way a bit. I am thinking I may even be able to use the ladder fro my company phone#. Next will be the convincing for the Budbuilt skids and bump outs.

Ill be taking before and after pics of that. Yes, I now know that I need to mark where my headlights sit now, so I can readjust alignment once lift is complete.
I have been waiting for lift to be completed so I can get rims Plastidipped.

Lift complete
Ok, so a slight lift - just what I was after. Toytec/Eibach front and rear coils, Bilstein 5100's front and rear.
The first thing I noticed driving away from the shop was the ride, wow, what a difference. That alone is worth the effort - just wish I had done this sooner.
All total the cost of lift/level and alignment was $432.00
Here are some before and after pics of lift and the next phase for 4R (already got a headstart on center caps
).
