Shell Spirax S 75W-90 Gear Oil for Diff/Tranny/Transfer?

Has anyone used this stuff in their 4Runner?

Full synthetic 75W-90 API/GL 5 oil good for 500,000 mi. interval drains and used mostly by truckers.

I have about 4 gallons of it left over from changing the diff & transmission in the Infiniti and it's been sitting in the kitchen...

It's the correct viscosity and it has a GL-5 rating so it should be fine. If I had it I'd use it...

Went ahead and did it last weekend. The rear differential plug was a hassle. Got a 12pt 24mm socket and could not break fill plug. With a little "rounding" though was able to get a 15/16" socket on and able to open it up (repeating the process for the transfer case).

It's only been one tank of gas, but the gas mileage is actually higher than before. Time will tell.

For the front and rear diff - yeah, that stuff is nasty. The transfer case fluid seemed capable of another 30,000.

Make sure it's LSD grade for Limited Slip Diff.
