Thinking about pulling the trigger for one. Has anyone strapped down a spare tire to the rack either with straps or with a type of locking mount? if so please post a pic and opinion. Apprehensive to the design for mounting my spare 33" on those bars. thanks!

Just ordered one of these last week.

Anybody have pelican cases strapped to them? I'm thinking of drilling straight through the plastic on the pelican case into the t-slot to mount them.

I'll be exploring all the t-slot options on mcmaster...

After getting my Rocky Mtn Antero roof rack I decided the hardware needed to be upgraded. A black rack with shiny stainless hex bolts just looked off to me. I sourced some black-oxide coated, stainless, button head bolts and oversized washers to replace them.

What is everyone using for awning mounts? Wondering if Prinsu mounts work since the racks are similar in design.

We would love to make a rack for the FJ Cruisers. It is lower down on our to-do list but we will get there! Our prototyping process is going to speed up here soon with some new equipment making its way into the shop.

Almost any lightbar that comes with mounting brackets will easily mount to the rack with the use of carriage bolts, some require small spacers to mount flush but those are easily sourced at hardware stores and are included in our lighting packages.

Sadly, we are unable to give everyone the new feet, the cost of production is quite high and they are not a "fix". The new feet are simply just a superior design that meets our high standards.

I have seen many run spare tires spanned between two crossbars with no issues. I am unaware of any locking mount for spare tires on a rack but I'm sure one made for a swingout could be easily adapted.

I have strapped a pelican to mine a couple of times, hard mounting by drilling and using carriage bolts with fender washers is also a great idea if you want it hard mounted. That's fairly common with our racks. One ratchet has always been enough for mine as I don't keep it on my roof fulltime as it usually contains a rifle and it's for space sake inside the vehicle on day trips.

Most all awning mounts work great. A lot of people run the ARB awning mounts, I have fabricated simple L brackets before for an ARQ awning. Some people even just source 1/4" L brackets and drill some holes. Im sure prinsu awning mounts would work as well.

Most all awning mounts work great. A lot of people run the ARB awning mounts, I have fabricated simple L brackets before for an ARQ awning. Some people even just source 1/4" L brackets and drill some holes. Im sure prinsu awning mounts would work as well.

Just received my rack out here in the North East.

Super impressed with the quality of the components, especially the 80/20 the lengths were perfectly matched, making a solid/square set-up.

I am going to have to wait until it warms up a bit to actually finish the sides, most likely paint them semi-gloss black.

I am hoping for a RTT at the REI Garage sale this weekend, and I'll be set for some camping trips this summer!

Also, I used to work for Aluminess Products in a past life (They make Aluminum gear for campers/overlanders) And when designing in CAD we always put 0.06" semicircles on each side of the bend lines, this would show up in the waterjet cut out, and makes it super easy to then throw the piece in the hydraulic brake and get repeatable bends. Always helped as we expanded the product lines.

These new feet are totally awesome!

You guys should just fab some Al that has the same outside profile as the stock roof rail so it looks the same from the outside profile, it will absorb the downward load and not dent the roof. ....
Or harvest some stock rails and do the "Extends" job

If you are interested I know where to drill the nutsert holes so they don't hit the sunroof rails(if your truck has the option)

We are going to be doing an overhaul of our front feet. For some people they really like that they do not have to drill a hole in their roof to install their rack, simply bolts up and is not intrusive on the vehicle itself causing irreversible modification. This has been our goal from the beginning. That being said for those that want the solid front mount, many people have extended the stock tracks just like this and it is super slick. I love the oem look and im sure its quite strong.

Cats kind of out of the bag but the 2.0 feet are going to be pretty exciting for us. Lots of work ahead of us and we can not say a time frame but they will be quite nice. This revamp is going alongside our 5th gen 4runner rack because of the need for a pressure foot on the 5th gen as well. We will update as we work on them.

Maybe with a couple extra brackets.

We are currently within lead times on all our racks so expect it to be within the listed lead times as of your order date. You could definitely modify our rack easily by making custom brackets, sadly we do not offer nor have we tested our brackets to work for this. Others on here have and you could probably pick their brains on a simple front mount that would work.

Excited to get your rack out to you so you can put it to great use!

Ugh! Had the dreaded "click, click, click" when trying to start her up after a part at my bosses house on Saturday night :brick:

Currently have the starter out and torn apart to replace the contacts. This is the second time I've done this (last time about 10+ years ago), but previously it seemed to give me a few warnings where it would click a few times then start up after a minute or two. No warning this time. Also going to make sure the battery-to-starter wire is still good while I'm in there.

Wondering if maybe getting a remanned starter might be a good idea. Going to bench test this one after getting the replacement contact kit installed.

I managed to pick up a Tepui Ayer Sky 2 rooftop tent and Yakima Slim Shady awning ath the REI garage sale a few weeks ago. $330 for the lot!

It seems a RTT is not very popular in new england, so nobody really knows what they are.

The rack is super adaptable, just drilled some holes in the side plates to mount the awning.

Still stoked so far.
