It has really started bothering me I can't explain it just gets on my nerves. There are a few threads from a year or so but just want to see what others have done lately. I

I agree, I just could not get used to the factory shifter. So I went to AutoZone or some place like that and picked up a cheap universal one.

Have had it nearly two years now, it is fine for me.

Here's what I did on my '12 TE.
The 4x4 shift knob is from ICON.

Here is mine. I sell pacemakers. This is my work truck, so I had a pacemaker custom made in a shift knob. I just love it.

Ok, for some reason this slight mod has me interested. But when I punch in the part # it keeps coming up " fits 2011/012 Tundra"and the description mentions some Scion also. But when I put in my 2014 4R Trail it says "will not fit your vehicle". Anybody with a 2014 done this with this part# PTR51-00110? The thing just screws right on and I don't why Toyota would change the diameter or thread pitch all of a sudden.

Try DoctorIsotope's knobs. He was supporting the Scion forums for a few years now, send him an email. He also has a website, can also make custom knobs to your liking.

I also despised the stock shift knob in the 5th gen, so I grabbed the Trans and TCase shifter set from Icon. They're immeasurably better in every way IMO. Pricey, but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.
A tip though, if you're thinking of ordering these: ditch the adhesive pad that comes with them; they just don't work. Screw the knobs on tight to their permanent positions, then use a few small dabs of 5-min epoxy to glue down the caps. Much sturdier and pleasing to the eye.

When the 5th gens first came out and they had one at the autoshow, I said and still say it "It feels like you're grabbing a dildo!" :artist:
