My 2011 LE just got to Long Beach from Washington. It's now getting ready for its ride back home. Then it gets converted to Japanese spec and another boat ride down to Okinawa.

They did not allow us to have family let alone personal vehicals, but then we were in the field all the time. I did get to drive a duec and half. Darn thing was slow but it went anywhere.

What do they do to it to convert it?

They have to do emissions and safety testing, add a front and right side camera and hook it up to the Navi, and change out the US Navi for a Japanese one.

The reason most of us Military do not do this is because it will cost you up to $5000.00 to do all this. Personnel with motorcycles/jetskis find this out the hard way too...

Back in Nagoya

My truck made it back to its birth place this week. I should have it in 3 or 4 more weeks!

Navi, side markers lights, ETC, backup and side cameras installed today. Still have not seen my truck in person yet. Maybe in a few more weeks. Start Japanese registration next week.

Just got the word my 4Runner is shipping this week from Japan to Okinawa. I should get on the 29th!
