Shock Advice

I bought some 14" 125# helper springs from Southwest Speed for the ZUK mod. Decided to send them back and purchased the Ruff Stuff Chevy Spring Swap Kit and am going Saturday to pull a set of 63" Chevy Springs to use instead. I'd also like to install new shocks in the rear end of my 86 4runner. I'm particularly interested in OME's and Bilsteins but have no idea which model would be appropriate. For now, I'd like to mount them in their stock positions as opposed to a triangle configuration. Any suggestions on specific model numbers? Haven't had a lot of luck finding specs on the OME stuff.

Dont mount them in a triangle, it reduces their effectiveness. Get the chevy springs and flex the truck out. Then measure total travel (full bump, full stuff) then get shocks that fit those measurements.

If your impatient and willing to chance it, the chevy springs should give you about 3" lift, so get 3" longer shocks. Assuming the lower shock mount is staying the same, but if you do the U bolt flip, youll have to make new lower shock mounts anyway.

Agree with Hyde 100%. Every suspension is different - get yours set up how you want it, then measure it out and buy shocks for that specific setup.
