Shock advice

I have a new to me 2014, SR5, 4wd, 115k miles and trying to clean it up a bit so you will see multiple posts from me looking for advice on repair/replace projects.

She is a bit bouncy/spongy in the turns, stops, etc and I was thinking of replacing the shocks/struts as it seems time. She sits just a high as my 2019 4R so I think the springs are fine. Should I go with the OEM shocks or is there a better aftermarket product? Other comments or suggestions? I am not looking to lift at this time. Going to keep the stock height

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone COMPLAIN about Bilsteins. Always a safe bet.

My friend with a Tacoma has them and dislikes them, and I agree. Digressive shocks are not fun on washboards.

OP if your in AZ I have all the old suspension from my 2021 with 3k miles on them when I switched to Kings.
 
IMO the OEM Tokico shocks are too soft. I'd go with Bilsteins. Bilstein 4600's if you don't want to lift or 5100's if you do.
 
When I replaced mine I went with the OEM Tokico shocks. I don't think it will change your spongy feeling. I think the bilstein 4600 might be stiffer if that is what you mean.
 
I added Bilstein 5100s and they were a little firmer and a feeling of better control on and off road. I think the 4600s would be the same.

I did 0.85 on the front 5100s to get a more level look. I added Airbags for when I pull a trailer to keep it level.

I put Bilstein 5100's on my 2010 when the OEM shocks wore out. It's much firmer, but not unpleasant. I don't spend a lot of time on washboard roads, but the ones I've been on haven't caused the ride to be noticeably worse.
 
The OEM shocks barely do the job on road! They won't be fun on washboard either.

If I just wanted to do pavement with occasional forest roads, 5100s or Eibachs would be the ticket.

But, yes, small monotube shocks will suffer on washboards, especially in the rear. Stock ones would bounce all over the place though.

Is that front shock setting for a level height? I’m getting my Bilsteins installed Tuesday and want to just level my SR5 out….
 
Looks like this with 0.85 I was afraid to go with 1.5 and get a negative rake. Did not want to add a spacer for the rear.
