Shop said can't do my XREAS spacer lift

These guys are pros. Been doing lifts got 2 decades around here, but they said with my truck they would rather not try and send me on my way with it in working order then mess something up,

Well you do have to appreciate their upfront honesty. It isn't rocket science but it is cheaper for them to decline the job than it is to replace xreas if they make a mistake.

4Wheel Parts in Austin said they could do my spacer lift for around $750. I asked if they had installed lifts on XREAS and they said yes. I like the ride quality of the XREAS and plan to keep it if I do lift in the future. Are you in Nacadoches?

I did my lift myself and threw my XREAS in the trash where it belonged.. BUT.. having done the job I can tell you for a fact that it would be a piece of cake to leave the lines connected to the shocks during installation. XREAS should not affect the installation at all for any shop that knows what they are doing. If a "pro" looked at me and told me they couldn't do it I wouldn't want them working on my stuff anyway.

It's probably not that they can't do it, it's that they don't want to risk doing it because if a line leaks they are out the cost of an xreas system, someone probably burned them in the past and now they won't touch it.

Agreed. If that's all new parts, install, alignment with a happy ending that would be awesome. If not that's pretty high. Even if it wasn't that high, Austin is a little far for me to drive.

Assuming that it is a kit like Daystar (which installs on TOP of the strut) as opposed to Cornfed (which installs INSIDE the strut) than it is a relatively easy to install as you will not require coil spring compressors. That way, you will 1. save yourself a ton of money that can be spent on other mods and 2. understand how your suspension is installed and works so that later, when you want to upgrade to better suspension, you will be able to save even more money by doing it yourself.

I bought it from another member on here. Not sure of the brand. I do know its a top load spacer. Should be the exact process of the current model day star.

Sounds good. I'd plan on it taking 5-6 hours, although we should be able to do it in 3-4. You will need to get an alignment afterwards, you may want to plan on at least having it checked while in AR or have it aligned as soon as you get back. If this is something you want to do, shoot me a PM and we can discuss the details.
